Errázuriz wines receive outstanding recognitions in Patrick Schmitt MW's Latest The Drinks Business Article “Reaching New Heights”

Recently, a tasting of approximately 50 labels from the latest releases of Chilean wines was conducted. This selection offered a varied view of the current wine landscape in the country.

The tasting revealed a high overall quality in the wines. For whites, a clear niche is being established for high-end Chardonnay, with Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2022 being recognized as one of the leading examples of this style.

One of the top honours, however, was awarded to Don Maximiano Founder’s Reserve 2020, which continues to establish itself as a leader in the Cabernet Sauvignon and blends segment, reaffirming the supremacy of this variety in the country. He adds “Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve is one of those top-end red blends that has benefitted from many years of thoughtful refinement, so it ends up as the complete wine it is today”.

Both wines received one of the highest accolades, earning 95 points in the blind tasting conducted by the Master of Wine.

This summary reflects a positive outlook for Chilean wines, highlighting both the quality of the classics and recent innovations.
