Viña Errázuriz among Chile's best wines in the latest Vinous report

With an outstanding 97 points, Errázuriz Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2022 was recognized as one of the best Chilean white wines in the recent publication of the international wine media, VINOUS, catalogued as ”Coastal Chile: Where the Pacific Shapes Vibrant Reds and Whites”.

In the document, the journalist and winemaker in charge of tasting wines for this media, Joaquín Hidalgo, tasted and rated the Viña Errázuriz labels during his visit to Chile earlier this year, referring to this example produced in unusual slate soils as: ”Las Pizarras Chardonnay 2022 (...) offers attractive aromas of green apple, ginger and cedar, complemented by notes of acacia, tuberose and lime. Lean, refreshing and taut, its high acidity and vibrant mouthfeel create a unique, nervy and creamy texture. This is a Chardonnay with a nod to Burgundy (...) that reflects a renewed expression of Chile's potential for high-end whites”.

Along with this, Las Pizarras Syrah 2022 and Las Pizarras Pinot Noir 2022, both obtained excellent 95 points as part of the reds recognized throughout this report.

Likewise, Viña Errázuriz's emblematic icon wine and Aconcagua Valley benchmark, Don Maximiano Founder's Reserve 2022, was rated 94 points and noted as: ”An intense garnet-colored wine that reveals aromas of red currant, cherry and plum, complemented by notes of pepper, camphor and spice. On the palate, it is dry and juicy, with a bold, rich mouthfeel that lingers on fruity notes. It certainly epitomizes the high expression of continental reds.”
